The Material Planning Analyst is responsible for end-to-end material planning for a defined portfolio of direct and indirect materials. This role ensures the timely availability of materials to support production while optimizing inventory levels through effective planning parameter ownership and cross-functional collaboration.

A key accountability of this role is the development standardization and continuous optimization of inventory planning parametersincluding min/max levels safety stock and replenishment strategies. The Analyst is expected to build and refine these models based on demand patterns lead times variability and service level targets to drive supply stability and inventory efficiency.

Working closely with Procurement Operations Quality and Supply Planning the Material Planning Analyst supports supply continuity improves inventory performance and contributes to data-driven decision-making within a regulated (GPP) environment.

This position is based out of Stayner Ontario

What youll be doing:

  • Execute end-to-end material planning for a defined portfolio of direct and indirect materials ensuring alignment with production schedules and demand requirements

  • Translate demand forecasts and production plans into material requirements

  • Establish maintain and continuously refine min/max inventory levels for all assigned materials leveraging demand variability lead times and service level targets

  • Develop and optimize planning parameters (e.g. safety stock reorder points lot sizes lead times) ensuring consistency and scalability across the material portfolio

  • Monitor material availability and proactively manage shortages delays and supply disruptions

  • Partner with Procurement to support supplier communication delivery tracking and issue resolution

  • Support inventory optimization initiatives including reduction of excess and obsolete inventory

  • Assist in material lifecycle management activities including phase-in/phase-out planning and controlled inventory depletion

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of material master data and support BOM alignment for assigned materials

  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by ensuring material readiness and identifying potential supply risks

  • Identify and escalate supply risks (e.g. supplier performance variability regulatory constraints) and support mitigation actions

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes parameter effectiveness and system utilization

  • Ensure all planning activities comply with SOX controls internal governance and regulatory requirements related to cannabis handling traceability and reporting

Youll need to have:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Operations Business or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 35 years of experience in materials planning inventory management or supply planning within a CPG or regulated environment

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables data analysis basic modeling); working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams

  • Foundational understanding of inventory management principles (min/max safety stock reorder points lead times)

  • Working knowledge of regulated environments and compliance requirements (SOX knowledge is an asset)

  • Supply chain certification (e.g. CPIM) is considered an asset

Salary range: $70000 - $80000 (Stayner Ontario*) per year

The actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as the candidates experience skills qualifications geographic location applicable market data internal equity and business needs and may vary within the stated range. This role may be eligible for bonus incentive compensation or other variable pay in accordance with applicable company plans.
