Position: Permanent Full-Time

Established in 2003 the Canadian Queer Chamber of Commerce is a trusted partner linking 2SLGBTQI businesses in Canada to the wider business community. The CQCC fosters economic growth by supporting and nurturing 2SLGBTQI businesses entrepreneurs students and allies and by helping Canadas corporate bodies connect with the 2SLGBTQI business community. A leader in inclusive procurement the CQCC is also the certifying body in Canada for 2SLGBTQI businesses.
Marketing and Digital Communications Coordinator
Reporting to the Manager Marketing and Communications the successful candidate will work closely with the marketing and communications team and collaborate across CQCCs program areas to support digital communications campaigns events member engagement supplier diversity initiatives and organizational storytelling.
This role helps ensure that CQCCs programs events services initiatives and member-facing communications are clear consistent engaging and aligned with the Chambers mission and strategic priorities. The roles purpose is to:
Support the planning coordination and execution of CQCC marketing and communications activities;
Assist in developing content for digital platforms newsletters campaigns events and organizational updates;
Maintain consistency in CQCCs brand voice visual identity and public-facing communications;
Support communications needs across CQCCs program areas including supplier diversity engagement events partnerships and advocacy initiatives; and
Help strengthen CQCCs visibility storytelling and connection with 2SLGBTQI businesses members partners and broader interest holder audiences.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Service Delivery
The Marketing and Digital Communications Coordinator supports the day-to-day delivery of CQCCs marketing and communications activities helping ensure that internal and external communications are timely accurate accessible and aligned with CQCCs brand and strategic priorities. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Draft edit format and distribute marketing and communications materials including but not limited to newsletters social media content website updates email campaigns promotional copy event materials and multimedia;
Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns for CQCC external facing activities;
Coordinate and maintain CQCCs social media calendar ensuring content is planned scheduled and aligned with organizational priorities;
Maintaining and updating CQCCs website content ensuring information is current accurate and easy to navigate;
Support email marketing activities including list coordination formatting testing scheduling and reporting;
Track marketing deliverables timelines approvals and campaign requirements to support effective execution;
Maintain organized marketing files templates image libraries campaign records and communication assets;
Support internal communications needs including staff updates program announcements and cross-functional communications materials; and
Ensure communications materials meet CQCC standards for accuracy professionalism accessibility inclusivity and brand consistency.
Managing Relationships
The Marketing and Digital Communications Coordinator builds and maintains effective working relationships with CQCCs internal teams members partners suppliers and external interest holders to support strong communications and coordinated delivery of marketing activities.
Work closely with Programming Engagement & Growth Grants & Research operations and executive teams to understand communication needs and timelines;
Maintain positive and professional relationships with internal and external partners to gather content clarify messaging and coordinate communications deliverables;
Support communication with vendors designers printers translators consultants photographers and other external service providers where required;
Assist in collecting stories updates testimonials photos and program highlights from CQCC members certified suppliers partners and community interest holders;
Help ensure that communications reflect the needs and experiences of CQCCs diverse audiences including 2SLGBTQI entrepreneurs small businesses corporate partners government interest holders and community organizations.
Problem Solving & Ownership
The Marketing and Digital Communications Coordinator analyzes and addresses day-to-day communications and marketing needs to support efficient operations strong brand presence and effective public engagement.
Identify and resolve routine issues related to campaign timing content accuracy formatting approvals digital publishing and interest holder communications;
Flag risks gaps or inconsistencies in communications materials and recommend practical solutions;
Support quality control by reviewing materials for spelling grammar formatting accessibility brand alignment and audience appropriateness;
Identify opportunities to improve communication workflows content planning campaign tracking and marketing coordination;
Use data feedback and performance metrics to inform recommendations for improving engagement and reach;
Exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive public-facing or partner-related information; and
Take ownership of assigned deliverables from planning through execution ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

DESIRED COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
Education & Experience:
Post-secondary education in marketing communications public relations journalism business digital media or a related field or equivalent experience;
13 years of experience in cross-functional marketing communications digital content social media public relations or a related function; Strong proficiency in digital and social media are preferred.
Strong writing editing proofreading and formatting skills;
Familiarity with marketing and communications tools such as Canva Mailchimp or similar email platforms WordPress or similar content management systems social media scheduling tools Microsoft 365 SharePoint Teams Zoom and basic analytics platforms;
Experience working in a not-for-profit chamber of commerce business association small business or community-based environment is an asset;
Previous experience working with the 2SLGBTQI community is an asset;
Previous experience supporting events campaigns membership organizations or interest holder communications is an asset;
Experience with CRM systems digital asset management and campaign tracking tools is an asset; and
Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

Terms
This is a hybrid full-time position based out of CQCCs head office in Toronto ON. Regular travel to events within the GTA and across Canada is required. Remote candidates based in Ottawa Vancouver Montréal Quebec City or other major Canadian centres may be considered and attend in-person meetings events and organizational commitments as required.
Compensation
Salary will be based on skills and experience within the annual earnings range of $55000 $60000. Additional benefits round out the compensation package including group benefit plan coverage annual vacation and a generous public holiday schedule including paid time off between Christmas Day and New Years Day.
