POSITION FUNCTION:

The Managing Coordinator Employment Support for Refugees with Lower Levels of Englishin their first year in Canada Program is responsible for the development implementationadministration overall operations and outcomes of the program assigned to the position emphasis is on providing employment support for refugees with lower levels ofEnglish in their first year in Canada. The Managing Coordinator works with internal
community agency and funding partners of programs projects or services assigned to theposition. This position will also be responsible for the creation and facilitation of workshopsas part of the program delivery.


DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct services that may include facilitating group workshops developing training curricula providing employment counselling support in one-on-one and group settings conducting intake & assessment responding to inquiries
  • Coordinate development implementation and administration of programsprojects or services assigned to the position.
  • Ensure no interruption in program project or service activities unless there is priorapproval from the manager or director
  • Coordinate and implement deliverables stipulated in contracts; inform supervisor ofachievement of contractual outcomes for the program project or service; prepare regular reports for the supervisor on the achievement of quality standards
  • Maintain knowledge of trends protocols and procedures essential for the operation of the special focus of the programs projects or services
  • Ensure collection and preparation of program project or service information in aformat suitable for submission to funders consultants and partners
  • Document client activities in database(s) or document and collect data to assist in the production of contractual reports or statistics for funders and claims
  • Oversee maintenance of client records; document client information and activities inthe agency and funder database
  • With the supervisor develop a framework and ongoing system to track and promote
    quality of project or program goals
  • Perform administrative duties related to the program project or service ( invoices handling petty cash)
  • Supervise programs or projects as assigned
  • Implement client recruitment strategy and coordinate distribution of marketingmaterials
  • May develop and deliver instruction materials to improve adult learners employability
  • Evaluate curriculum and teaching methodologies; regularly update instruction delivery to improve client outcome
  • Participate in partnership departmental all-staff and relevant community meetingsin-service training and other training
  • Coordinate and liaise with consultants and/or volunteers/mentors for deliveryof program or project activities as needed
  • With the Manager or Senior Manager participate in the monitoring of program budgetsreviews and monitors the cash flow and variance to ensure programs are meetingtargets


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work Sociology Womens Studies Psychology Education or a related field or a certificate or diploma or course work in related fields or a combination of training and experience in an area related to the program project or service
  • Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check required
  • CDP certificate is an asset

COMPENSATION:$31.26 - $34.32 per hour


HOURS: Full Time Position. The successful candidate must be able to commute to our Boundary office at 5575 Boundary Road Vancouver BC V5R 2P9or Newcomers Centre and Migrant Workers Hub at 7134 King George Blvd Surrey BC V3W 5A3


BENEFITS:

A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
