Position Summary
The Manager Finance & Operations is responsible for all aspects of financial management including regulatory and financial reporting budget and forecast preparation analysis and business partnering. This role ensures the integrity of financial information and proactively supports strategic and operational decision-making.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations including billing A/R A/P time tracking payroll employee salary management bonuses expenses reports and G/L
- Establish maintain and continuously improve accounting policies procedures and internal controls to ensure financial integrity and efficiency.
- Oversee the bookkeeping function ensuring quality control over financial transactions and reporting
- Monitor revenue allocation and engagement profitability; provide financial insights that inform operational and strategic decisions
- Evaluate and develop business protocols to increase process efficiencies maintain and strengthen internal controls including ordering new equipment as needed.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and provide insightful variance analysis identifying risks and opportunities
- Prepare and publish timely monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting tax filings audits and internal control requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors regulators and advisors.
- Manage banking debtor and significant vendor relationships including payment
- Coordinate with legal counsel accounting tax and other outsourced resources
- Manage and comply with government reporting requirements HST and corporate tax filings employee
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong analytical and communication skills. Exceptional business acumen and interpersonal skills
- 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred or working towards designation
- Effective communicator able to convey complex financial information simply.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to balance technical accounting expertise with a practical business-oriented mindset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and QuickBooks accounting software
Workplace Requirements and Conditions:
- Hybrid three (3) days per week in office
- Located in downtown Toronto
