PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As Manager Customs & Transportation youll be at the forefront of optimizing our domestic and international logistics operationsensuring seamless material flow and asset availability across borders. Youll drive cost-effective high-quality solutions in partnership with business leaders while managing vendor contracts budgets and leada talented team of 3 reports across Canada and Mexico. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead and manage North American Trade Compliance for imports/exports ensuring alignment with corporate policies
- Oversee transportation and logistics operations vendor performance and regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement trade compliance procedures training and manuals
- Ensure accurate customs data (HTS COO ECCN valuation Incoterms) across the supply chain
- Collaborate with internal teams (tax legal IT procurement) and external partners to ensure compliant cross-border operations
- Manage customs brokers and logistics providers supporting timely compliant deliveries
- Identify scalable solutions to improve compliance reduce costs and streamline operations
- Guide day-to-day trade compliance matters including audits duty programs and government agency requirements
- Lead sourcing strategies and contract negotiations for customs and transportation services
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Science Engineering Business/Commerce or a related field with a strong quantitative focus.
- U.S. Licensed Customs Broker or equivalent international certification education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in corporate trade compliance with demonstrated knowledge of import/export regulations and global trade practices.
- This role requires demonstrated leadership capabilities and a clear aspiration to move into a peopleleadership role in the future

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
