The Manager plays a key role in supporting and implementing experiential learning initiatives that leverage innovative pedagogical approaches simulation technologies and evidence-based methods. The role requires a high degree of professionalism discretion and sound judgment in managing confidential and sensitive information. The work environment is fastpaced and demanding with frequent interruptions shifting priorities tight deadlines and multiple concurrent issues requiring attention. The position also involves light to moderate physical tasks. This is a fulltime role that may require flexible hours including occasional evening and weekend work and calls for creative thinking innovative problemsolving and a strong commitment to delivering an exceptional student experience. Primary Purpose: The Manager of the Clinical Learning Resource Centre (CLRC) provides strategic and operational leadership to advance simulation-based and interprofessional learning opportunities for University of Saskatchewan (USask) Academic Health Sciences collaboration with partner colleges and programs this position supports the development implementation and evaluation of educational programs and strategic initiatives while leading staff and overseeing the daily operations of the CLRC. The Manager also ensures the effective management and integration of simulation technologies and resources including high-fidelity manikins task trainers and related equipment to support innovative learning experiences and optimize educational outcomes.
Nature of Work: Reporting to the Associate Director the Manager is responsible for overseeing the daytoday operations of the CLRC working collaboratively with the other CLRC Manager and a primary focus on supporting Health Sciences practical experience curricula. This role includes supervision of CLRC staff and oversight of all simulated learning activities within the Managers designated areas. The Manager is expected to ensure the unit operates smoothly and efficiently delivering exceptional service to all partners.
Typical Duties or Accountabilities:
Education: Post-secondary education in a health care-related field is preferred. Certifications and/or post graduate degrees in leadership and/or administration would be an asset. The University of Saskatchewan recognizes alternate career paths; therefore a combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in a fastpaced multidisciplinary environment. Demonstrated competency (three to five years) in adult immersive teachinglearning approaches or other experiential education methods. Experience with program development performance evaluation human resources and financial management policy and procedure development and team building are essential.
Skills: Performance competencies include leadership and vision change leadership relationship building communication results orientation and personal effectiveness. The successful candidate will demonstrate strengths in strategic program development and management; experience in and commitment to interprofessional health sciences education; the ability to build collaborative interprofessional relationships; an understanding of healthcare practice and evidence-informed teaching and learning strategies in simulated healthcare environments; strong human resource management and decision-making skills; and the ability to work independently with initiative flexibility creativity and innovation.
