The salary range for this role is $82600.00 to $103200.00. Base salaries aredeterminedduring our interview process by assessing a candidates experience skills against internalpeersand against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
Position Summary:
As supervisor of central maintenance for Hiram Walker & Sons Limited (HWSL) the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and leading a group of skilled trades personnel. With safety of paramount concern the candidate will reinforce the companys vision for world-class maintenance by placing an emphasis on the quality of workmanship efficiency of assigned work and managing the expectations of internal customers. HWSL is committed to achieving excellence in quality health & safety the environment and product safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- OHSA - Ensure compliance of Occupational Health & Safety Act (section 25 26 27 and 28) per Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd Policy- Management-Supervision-Worker Safety Responsibilities.
- Ensures compliance to all the environmental quality and safety standards related to the department; Supports continuous improvement and root cause analysis processes.
- Lead direct reports to meet or exceed cost savings initiative objectives.
- Support HACCP GMP and technical audit requirements.
- Facilitate open and effective communications with other departments ensuring optimal quality standards.
- Ensure preventative maintenance program is followed and all work is tracked. Aid in process improvement through technical support.
- Track and inspect Trades work for completeness accountable for work performed and follow up actions required.
- Assist in unplanned repairs to ensure resolution in a timely manner.
- Establish a plan to shape a high performance team; manages the development of the departments resources through training and coaching opportunities.
- Professionally manage the relationship with union members and trades.
- Maintain zero non-conformance certification for ISO 9002
- Direct supervision of: Electricians Pipe-Fitters & Mechanics including payroll and manpower management.
- Financial responsibility for M&R and Labour Budgets
- Internal regular work related contact with:
- Manufacturing (Distillery Warehousing Blending)
- Central Maintenance: Coordination of trades
- Bottling Production: Information sharing with trades supervisors planner
- Industrial Relations: People management
- External regular work related contact with outside vendors for materials and services
- Create develop review and continuously improve Preventive Maintenance (PM) job plans including labour estimates task sequencing required tools materials safety requirements and technical instructions to support efficient execution of maintenance work.
- Work collaboratively with Maintenance Planning Operations and Trades personnel to identify PM optimization opportunities and ensure maintenance strategies remain current and effective.
- Assist in a conditioned based monitoring systems.
- Analyze equipment failures breakdown trends and maintenance history to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions that improve asset reliability and performance.
- Support and facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations for significant equipment failures and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor and utilize reliability metrics including equipment downtime PM compliance mean time between failure (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR) to identify improvement opportunities.
- Identify and support predictive and condition-based maintenance opportunities through vibration analysis thermography oil analysis and other reliability tools where applicable.
Required Skills & Abilities:

Education:
Required:
- College Diploma Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Preferred:
- Bachelor Degree Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
