Job Summary

Reports to: Maccess Director

Hours: 5-8 hours per week

Term: Sept 1 to April 30

Maccess
aims to build and maintain a campus that celebrates advocates and ensures inclusiveness in the area of disability. We provide programming and events in an effort to
establish a sense of community for those that self-identify as having disabilities or as addition Maccess strives to advocate on the behalf of students in a proactive and affirmative fashion and provide educational programming on and opportunities to learn about critical disability studies.

The Logistics Executive is one of the members of MSU Maccess executive team. Primarily they will
be responsible for organizing the logistics of Maccess events. This includes: booking rooms and equipment for events scheduling events managing set-up and takedown of events and ensuring events are as accessible as possible. The Logistics Executive should be knowledgeable on accessibility best practices as they will be used as a consultant when planning events.

      Working Conditions

      • Time demands may exceed stated hours of work
      • Most work can be completed in a shared office space

      Major Responsibilities


      Event Planning Function

      • In conjunction with the Executives and the Director plan organize and execute all campaigns and events. This includes:
      • Booking rooms and equipment for events
      • Scheduling events
      • Managing set-up and takedown of events
      • Ensuring that events are accessible during all stages of planning the event
      • Type of work and duties will vary from event to event based on the needs of participants and the nature of the event

      Communications Function

      • Respond to general inquiries
      • Maintain strong communication with the Maccess
        Director fellow executives and volunteers
      • Promote integration of students with disabilities on campus
      • Work closely with the Promotions Executive to ensure events are promoted in a timely and effective manner
      • Work closely with the Volunteer & Training Coordinators to ensure volunteers participate and are informed on any events or campaigns

      Other

      • Other duties as assigned by the Maccess
        Director
      • Provide feedback on the service
      • Attend executive meetings as scheduled
      • Be an active member of the Maccess community through attending events maintaining an online presence etc.
      • Be available for peer support shift coverage
      • Provide transition for the incoming Logistics Executive
