Our Client - Milestones Restaurant in Hamilton/ Stoney Creek is looking for a Line cook to join their team in a part time or fulltime basis.

This role is ideal for a cook who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant setting and has experience managing multiple orders while maintaining exceptional food quality and kitchen safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to Milestones recipes specifications and presentation standards.
  • Operate and manage the grill and saut stations during service periods.
  • Ensure all proteins vegetables sauces and accompaniments are cooked accurately and consistently.
  • Monitor cooking times temperatures and portion sizes to maintain food quality and safety.
  • Assist with prep work including cutting marinating seasoning and organizing ingredients.
  • Maintain proper rotation and storage of food products using FIFO principles.

Kitchen Operations

  • Work efficiently during lunch dinner and peak service periods.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and front-of-house staff.
  • Maintain a clean organized and stocked workstation throughout shifts.
  • Assist with inventory control and report shortages to the Kitchen Manager or Chef.
  • Support other stations as required to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Health & Safety

  • Adhere to all food safety sanitation and workplace safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario health and safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment grills saut stations coolers and kitchen work areas.
  • Follow proper procedures for food handling storage and temperature control.

Qualifications & Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of line cook experience in a full-service restaurant.
  • Minimum 1 year of dedicated grill and/or saut experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Experience cooking steaks burgers chicken seafood pasta dishes and saut ed menu items.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a busy restaurant environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Reliable punctual and flexible with scheduling.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced high-temperature kitchen environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience working in a corporate or branded restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and food cost control practices.
