As a Full-Time Light Duty Cleaner you will help maintain a clean safe and welcoming environment across public transit to the highest standard. This is a permanent full-time position with a schedule of five (5) shifts per week assigned based on operational requirements

Job Classification: Light Duty Cleaner Permanent Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $20.15/hour as per the Collective Agreement
Hours of Work: 32.5 paid hours per week
Schedule: Five (5) shifts per week
Shift: Day Shift 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Number of Positions: 2
Union Position: Yes
Your work will include:
- Collect and properly dispose of litter garbage from streetcars and debris from passenger areas and floors.
- Sweep floors thoroughly to maintain a clean safe and presentable environment.
- Mop streetcar floors to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Dust and clean passenger seats and surrounding areas ensuring they are neat and well maintained.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces including handrails poles grab handles buttons and other frequently contacted areas.
- Clean and maintain the operators cabin including floors surfaces and high-touch areas.
- Perform cleaning duties efficiently while following established cleaning procedures quality standards and workplace safety requirements.

NOTE:
- For bargaining unit employees vacancies will be filled in accordance with Collective Agreement including applicable seniority skill and ability provisions.

Qualifications :
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
A great attitude and strong attention to detail
Strong English communication skills (reading writing and speaking) mandatory
Minimum 1 year of relevant cleaning experience preferably in a transit or industrial environment.
Proficient in performing mopping and sweeping while maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Comfortable standing/walking for extended periods in a public-facing environment
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain a professional and cooperative work environment.
Comfortable using cleaning chemicals .
Able to communicate professionally with supervisors clients and the general public
A clear criminal background check is required for this role
