Job Summary

Your Position

The Lead Patient Access will develop pricing and reimbursement strategies to support the reimbursement of new and existing products with public and private payers. You will foster payers and stakeholders relations to maximize reimbursement of assigned portfolio. This position reports to the Vice President Patient Access.

Pricing and Reimbursement Strategy (70%)

  • Use solid submissions experience to lead best-in-class reimbursement applications for public and private formularies.
  • Develop market access and health economics strategies to gain/ maintain/ optimize the reimbursement for new and existing products.
  • Assume the role of market access lead on each of the product brand teams assigned to you and collaborate closely with a cross-functional team towards the effective communication of the reimbursement strategy.
  • Source and analyze accurate and reliable data to use in negotiations with payers to optimize reimbursement and renewal of listing proposals.
  • Lead the development and adaptation of health economic models and budget impact analyses required for submissions to payers with the support of external vendors.
  • Lead the development and updates of hospital P&T kits.
  • Assess needs and integrate market access & health economics into brand & tactical plans.
  • Liaise & collaborate with the global team to adapt health economic models to support the reimbursement strategy.
  • Oversee PMPRB filings and pricing compliance activities for the Canadian patented product portfolio ensuring alignment with evolving federal pricing regulations.
  • Develop and implement annual pricing optimization plans for assigned portfolio in line with federal and provincial pricing guidelines.
  • Manage hospital and GPO contracting activities including RFP submissions and ongoing contractual compliance obligations.
  • Oversee and monitor PLA rebates invoicing and reconciliation process for assigned portfolio.

Payers and Stakeholders Relations (30%)

  • Work with field market access team and medical advisors to engage with federal/provincial and private stakeholders as they relate to reimbursement the development and maintenance of strong relationships with public and private stakeholders
  • Work closely with the market access field teams to ensure timely implementation of listing recommendations in the provinces and by private payers renewals and improving existing listing agreements.
  • Co-Lead the development and deployment of tactics to drive formulary listings in collaboration with the field access team.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Economics Life Sciences or equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar position or commercial functions in the Canadian pharmaceutical or health care industry
  • Knowledge of Canadian pharmaceutical reimbursement and pricing issues policies and trends and experience in obtaining public and private reimbursement
  • Ability to manage internal and external resources to bring complex pricing and reimbursement application projects to fruition
  • Strategic thinker with ability to formulate and develop strategies that results in action
  • Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge and experience in designing Budget Impact model(s) and Pharmacoeconomics (an asset)
  • Experience in managing complex projects in a cross-functional environment (a strong asset)
  • Experience in pricing & reimbursement strategy of rare disease drugs (an asset)
  • Experience in managing payers and stakeholders relations (an asset)
  • Bilingualism (French & English) oral and written
