About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Lead Environment the Lead Environment Airis responsible forexecuting environmental programs that support compliance in the areas of air qualityat the operational level. This role also supports the Asset Environment and Regional Sustainable Development teams in permitting compliance improvement initiatives and regional air quality.

To be successful we are seeking someone with a balanced combination of operational experience and applied technicalexpertisein air quality dust mitigationand regulatory processes. The ideal candidate can adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment anddemonstratesan aptitude for innovative solutions-based critical thinking. Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to build andmaintainrelationships are essential for this role.

In this role you will:
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Leadthe Assetoperational airprogram
  • Lead engagement and manage relationships with governmentagenciesindigenousgroups and other local communities of interest
  • Lead document control practices and support trainingandcompetencydevelopment
  • Provide technical direction and field support for current and emerging environmental issues
  • Collaborate with and develop andmaintainworking relationships withAsset and Regionalteamsand external agencies
  • Understand applicable commitments permits acts regulations and associated requirements toinformmanagement decisions and activities
  • Prepare andsubmitallrequireddata and reports to meet regulatory and other commitments including presentingtechnical information todiverseaudiences
  • Manage and support compliance projects
Requirements:
  • Engineering or Science degree or diploma in an environmental related field
  • Minimum five years experience providing technical direction and influencing operational environmental related risk management includingchallenges associated with resource management
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and provincial compliance practices and regulations related to air quality
  • Technical understanding ofair monitoring systemsand experience with risk evaluations
  • Demonstratedproject managementandsupervisoryexperiencewith aproventrack recordmanagingmultiple environmental projects and budgets
  • Proficiencyin environmental data management analysis reporting andthe use ofenvironmental databases
  • Professional designation meeting the BC provincial requirementsfora qualified professional for applicable programs isconsideredan asset
$106000 - $131000 a year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience skills and competencies and considers internal equity.
