Overview

The Structural Buildings Team is currently looking for a Junior Structural Engineer to support the growth of the office and the team based out of Halifax.

Your role

  • Actively participate in the design and preparation of plans and specifications (steel concrete wood masonry etc.).

  • Conduct studies surveys technical reports and structural inspections.

  • Provide contract administration services during the construction phase including oversight of structural work execution.

  • Ensure that the engineering work is produced according to the quality standards of the industry and respect the National Building Code and Ontario Building Code.

  • Coordinate projects that impact your structural design with the other disciplines (mechanical electrical architecture process etc.).

  • Maintain and develop client and stakeholder relationships.

About you

  • Bachelors or masters degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.

  • 0-2 years related experience in a structural engineering firm or construction

  • Experience with structural design software (STAAD ETABS SAP2000 SAFE etc.).

  • Excellent organizational communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage changing priorities.

  • Holds a valid Class 5 driving license.

The successful candidate will be expected to obtain Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Reliability Status clearance upon hiring with an expectation to obtain Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Secret clearance upon hiring.
