Job Summary

POSITION:Junior Development Assistant - Canada Summer JobsSTATUS: Temporary; Full-Time - 8 weeksSHIFT:35 hours per weekLOCATION: Provincial Office in Vancouver BCCLASSIFICATION: ExemptWAGE:HourlyCLOSING DATE:Open Until FilledOther Job requirements: The HRSDC Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program may fund some of these positions. CSJ criteria including: must be between 15-30 years of age at the start of employment and looking for career-related experience must be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations (proof required)NOTE - Aboriginal students are encouraged to self-identify as this has been identified as a local priority in the constituency by Canada Summer the Position:Reporting to the Manager Data Assets & Generosity Services this position will participate in database management activities to help ensure the clean and accurate data that is essential for fundraising activities importing exporting and assisting in developing data strategies to improve existing functions and to create new operations. Duties are primarily focused on database maintenance updating and basic specific duties:Data Maintenance:Manage duplicates in Raisers Edge (RE) and Luminate Online(LO)Review and resolve RE export to LO exceptionsReview various data clean up queries dailyWork with Senior Officer on new data projects as required to improve existing database functions and create new data strategies for new processesUpdate instruction manuals as requiredExporting/Importing:Import exception files for large import projectsImport various files as assignedUpdate and build import and export profiles as requiredImport and export for additional projects as required to support team and organizationOther:Support the Senior Officer Data Assets in meeting all data needs to support Revenue Development in achieving fundraising general administrative or event-related support to the department as by example in professionalism and commitment to to making the BC SPCA a provincial leader in fundraising expertise and to continued education and learning as it relates to fundraising generally and database management tools and trends in Revenue Development and organizational staff meetings as duties as you need to have:Some post secondary school or equivalent in computer science database management or relevant discipline and up to six months work experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer).Computer experience: Windows Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel). Strong excel skills are essential. Any CRM (Customer Relationship Management) regular expression or Excel formula experience is an working with data: establishing data points accurate record keeping collecting data analysis using data to support initiatives and to demonstrate success need or areas of written oral and persuasive communication skills including an ability to relate respectfully to a diverse desire to provide excellent customer service skills: patience professional positive attitude attention to detail accuracy and adaptabilityResourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with colleagues customers and volunteersHighly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervisionAbility to identify problems and opportunities as well as bring forward to thrive in an open concept and fast-paced work environment and to meet firm harmony with the vision mission and strategic directions of the BC SPCA.
