Who you are:
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate co-op (or internship) program at a recognized Canadian university.
- Have Excellent computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Be able to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and concisely using appropriate technical vocabulary.

Position Summary
The Co-op Student will support the Category Management Strategic Sourcing and Legal/Commercial teams in delivering procurement contracting and supplier management activities across Canadian Utilities. The successful candidate will gain practical experience in sourcing strategy development market analysis supplier evaluation contract administration commercial risk assessment and procurement governance while working on enterprise-wide initiatives and projects.
This role provides hands-on exposure to the full procurement lifecycle from identifying business requirements through sourcing negotiation contract execution supplier performance management and contract closeout.

Category Management Support
- Assist with category research spend analysis and market intelligence activities.
- Support development and maintenance of category strategies and sourcing plans.
- Analyze supplier markets cost drivers industry trends and supply chain risks.
- Prepare reports dashboards presentations and executive summaries.
- Support supplier segmentation and vendor management initiatives.
Strategic Sourcing Support
- Assist in preparing RFIs RFQs RFPs and other sourcing documentation.
- Support evaluation activities scoring consolidation and award recommendations.
- Conduct supplier benchmarking and competitive market analysis.
- Track sourcing event timelines milestones and deliverables.
- Participate in supplier meetings and sourcing project discussions.
Contract & Commercial Support
- Assist with contract intake administration and document control activities.
- Support contract review processes and contract lifecycle management.
- Help identify key commercial terms and conditions obligations and risks.
- Coordinate routing approvals and contract execution activities.
- Maintain contract records and supplier documentation.
Legal & Governance Exposure
- Support legal and commercial teams in organizing contract templates and playbooks.
- Assist with compliance reviews and procurement governance activities.
- Participate in contract deviation tracking and commercial risk assessments.
- Help prepare procurement summaries for governance committees and approvals.
- Support audit readiness and documentation retention requirements.
