Zurich Canada is currently looking for post-secondary student an Internship/Coop position to provide support data governance projects and tasks focused on improving data quality usability and transparency. This work will help enable stronger governance oversight regulatory compliance and responsible AI adoption.

You will work under direct supervision and perform the tasks requested alongside experienced professionals. This opportunity is part of our internship program and is also open to Co-op students.

Zurich Canada uses artificial intelligenceenabled tools to support certain aspects of the recruitment process including the initial review and screening of applications. Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in-person presence which may include time in the office or market-facing engagements.

What you will do


Provide support in documenting business definitions data quality rules mappings and other business metadata for the critical data elements using defined policies standards and processes.
Support data quality assessments using both conventional (SQL scripts & data profiling) and AI-assisted methods (e.g. anomaly detection and intelligent rule generation) to proactively identify and address data issues.
Support the preparation of data quality & governance-related dashboards & reports.
Help create enrich and maintain business definitions data catalogs lineage documentation and other governance artifacts using existing tools and AI-assisted methods.
Contribute to building custom applications and solutions that improve data discoverability explainability and trust for analytics & AI.

Job Qualifications - What you bring to the table:

Currently pursuing a degree in Data Management Analytics Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
Knowledge of SQL for querying analyzing and validating data
MS Excel and PowerPoint experience
Familiarity with data analytics reporting or business intelligence concepts
Analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail
Be legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with data using Python libraries such as Pandas or PySpark
Basic understanding of enterprise data quality concepts & data validation techniques
Demonstrated problem solving skills in a customer focused environment
Excellent communication skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated punctual professional and able to work independently

At Zurich Canada we are committed to pay equity. We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills experience and internal equity. The salary range for this position is 45000 - 60000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location specific responsibilities and individual qualifications. As required by local law Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range but starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidates skills and experience.
