Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Vice President International Centre theInternational Relations and Partnerships Lead provides strategic coordination relationship management and operational support to advance SAITs internationalization priorities. Reporting to the Associate Vice President International Centre the incumbent executes strategic directions established by senior leadership and plays a key role in strengthening SAITs global engagement and partnership ecosystem.
This role serves as a central resource for developing coordinating and formalizing international agreements and institutional partnerships. Using a holistic and relationshipdriven approach the Lead works closely with internal and external stakeholders to expand global collaboration opportunities and enhance SAITs international presence.
We are seeking an experienced professional to guide the development of international agreements that support strategic planning internationalization and global partnership growth. The Lead will collaborate with academic schools administrative departments and global partners to advance global engagement initiatives and act as a key liaison for faculty and staff engaging in international partnership activities.
This position supports the implementation of SAITs international relations and partnership strategic framework. Responsibilities include developing global engagement opportunities in collaboration with academic leaders and external partners and working closely with campus offices international relations and partnership strategic framework.
The International Relations and Partnerships Lead manages individual priorities in alignment with departmental goals SAIT policies and institutional procedures. Success in this role requires strong independent judgment collaborative teamwork and a proactive relationshipfocused mindset.
- Steward international collaborations by coordinating activities related to the development approval evaluation and ongoing monitoring of international partnerships which may include memorandums of understanding pathway- articulation- exchange- trans-national- student and faculty mobility agreements.
- Support the creation of international partnership and relationship strategies identifying partners aligned with program and institutional goals
- Coordinate and support international visiting delegations and international partnership missions.
- Evaluate existing partnerships and recommend termination when agreements are inactive or not meeting expected outcomes
- Maintain longterm international partnerships including managing renewals and ensuring agreement continuity
- Collaborate with other SAIT departments on matters related to external block transfer between international institutions and SAIT programs
- Partner with the Office of the Registrar to design an international block transfer assessment framework
- Identify and engage with opportunities for new international agreements
- Work with academic schools and the Office of the Registrar to develop a bestinclass transfer and international pathway system
- Maintain relationships with international postsecondary institutions and relevant agencies
- Partner with Enrollment Management and other SAIT departments to develop and maintain international transfer services events and resources
- Work with key stakeholders to develop strategies that enhance global engagement and international partnership development
- Stay current on local and global transfer trends to ensure SAIT maintains highquality service
- Develop a partnership selection rubric to prescreen and evaluate prospective international partners
- Coordinate international institutional partnerships to support and increase international enrollments
- Strategically align partnership agreements with institutional goals for international enrollment growth
- Collaborate with the internal stakeholders and serve as a liaison with international partner institutions to establish maintain and strengthen educational agreements
- Build strong crosscampus relationships to support international block transfer Prior Learning Recognition (PLAR) and pathway development
- Contribute to the success of all international partnership projects at SAIT including block transfer initiatives
- Collaborate on the creation and maintenance of international policies that enhance accessibility and ensure a seamless student experience
- Prepare briefings and reports on international transfer student enrollment and retention to inform leadership and key stakeholders
- Maintain an active and uptodate inventory of international partnerships and agreements
- Collect and analyze metrics related to international partnerships options to demonstrate value impact and return on investment
- Evaluate and monitor the performance and outcomes of international agreements
- Document and compile statistics on incoming and outgoing transfer agreements to support reporting and decisionmaking
- Ensure international agreements are implemented effectively appropriately and sustainably
- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to gather and maintain accurate partnership data
- Strengthen internal and external understanding of international relations and partnerships processes by educating the campus community and maintaining accurate information on the SAIT website
- Produce reports on international partnerships
- Completes special projects which may require research as assigned
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Bachelors degree from a recognized institution (Masters degree preferred)
- Postsecondary experience ideally in international education or partnership development is preferred
- Indepth knowledge of international partnerships transfer and pathway development in a postsecondary context
- Knowledge of student record integrity and its importance in transfer and pathway processes
- Experience developing and implementing policy within an academic or administrative environment
- Ability to interpret and apply policy documents with accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships with external stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills to support decisionmaking and ensure best practice
- Demonstrated administrative ability including strategic planning policy development and process implementation
- Ability to foster collaboration and trust work collegially and inspire high levels of performance
- Experience developing highlevel student communication plans and executing them effectively
- Strong understanding of the Canadian immigration system
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Experience working in an international education environment within a college or university
- Knowledge and understanding of applied education
- Experience living working or studying abroad (preferred)
- Experience using student information systems such as Banner VAS and OnBase (preferred)
- Ability to collect analyze and interpret international pathway and transfer metrics
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret and apply policy documents
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with a commitment to evidencebased best practices
- Ability to communicate in a second language (asset)
