IntermediateSenior Structural Engineer in Vancouver, BC

Our Structural Team is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer to join the growing team in Vancouver office in British Columbia Province. The successful individual will develop and manage projects including structural design and construction support for the construction of new or modification to existing transportationdata center water & wastewater commercial industrial power and institutional buildings & structures ensuring conformance with building codes and project requirements. The scope of projects managed by our department ranges from minor renovations to major Structural Engineer will be collaborating with peer engineers and BIM modelers in Toronto-West head office and other Arcadis offices around the globe. This job will involve coordination with other disciplines in house and offices around the world.

Role accountabilities:

• Conduct the structural analysis & design of structures and prepare drawings and specifications
• Carry out seismic analysis seismic design and seismic performance assessment
• Coordination with other design disciplines (Architecture Electrical Mechanical etc)
• Attend meetings and prepare presentations when required
• Prepare bid documentation for project pursuits
• Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes
• Reviewing & responding to submittals (RFIs Shop Drawings etc) during CA phase of projects
• Provide direction to and work with Engineering & CAD staff
• Provide peer reviews of other engineers work
• Perform QA/QC activities

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Masters degree in Structural Engineering is an asset
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience instructural design and construction support
• Registered P. Eng in British Columbia title of Designated Structural Engineer will be an asset
• Registration in other provinces is an asset.
• Knowledge and understanding of Canadian design standards and codes
• Knowledge of US codes and standards is an asset
• Proficiency and understanding of structural design software such as ETABS SAFE Robot SAP2000 is expected
• Experience with Microsoft Office and software such as Bluebeam is expected
• Knowledge of 3D BIM is an asset such as REVIT & Navisworks
• You will work in a multi-disciplined team environment and will be expected todemonstrate a collaborative attitude in working with members of the team
• Ability to confidently relate with all levels of staff and clientele - Internal and External
• Excellent work ethic and desire to succeed
• Effective communication in the English language (verbal and written)
