We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to be a part of a new plant start-up based in Port Colborne Ontario. The Human Resources Generalistplays a key role in supporting the integrity efficiency and compliance ofthe HR function. Thisposition willbe responsible forexecution of core HR processes contributes to ongoing process improvements and helps with maintaining consistentand high-standard employee experience across the position is a new role for the organization.

This position is directly reported to the Human Resources Manager.

Project Phase Responsibilities

With theHuman Resources Manager this position will:

• Continue thecreation ofHR documents such aspoliciesprograms and reportingto support the growing company.

• Createjobdescriptionsbased on our companys needs and hiring.

• Create and execute full onboardingprogramfor new hires in collaboration with EHS and department managers.

• Assistin developing training processes and documentation.

• Attend local careerjoband experience fairsto educate community and educationinstitutionsabout the companys future and current job openings.

General HRResponsibilities

• Support the current and future business needs through employee engagement and development.

• Advise and support supervisors and operational leaders on day-to-day employee relations matters.

• Maintainaccurateand up-to-date employee recordsin accordance withretention and privacy requirements.

• CompleteHR reportsensuring accuracy and reliability of the data.

• Contributesto thecreationreviewand maintenance of HR documents such aspolicies forms and templates.

• Respond to internal queriesregardingHR procedures andassistin providing consistent and clear guidance.

• Work closely with recruitment team to help refine and implement strategies that align with business goals locally.

• Manage the onboarding process and conduct New Hire Orientation with all new employees.

• Work with the Administration Team onemployee engagement and recognition initiatives.

• Work with the Centre of Expertise at AKAas needed tofacilitateHR programs such as administering benefitsreviews training and compensation analysis.

• Administer andmonitorthe Attendance Management Program.

• Conduct workplace investigations and provide recommendations for resolution ensuring alignment with company policies and best practices.

• Prepare counseling and discipline lettersand attend discipline meetings in conjunction with leaders.

• SupportESA leaves and disabilityprocesses such as STD and LTDincluding employee follow-up and return-to-work coordination.

Key Skills and Abilities:

• Experience working with Workday or similar HRIS system.
• Must be proactive self-motivated customer-focused and solution-oriented.
• Abilitytofoster andmaintainrelationships with employees at all levels within the organization.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to influence and support leaders.
• Comfortable developing and executing plans promoting ideas and implementing initiatives.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Must be proficient in use of MS Office products.

Education Background:

• Minimum post-secondary education bachelors degree in ahuman resourcesrelated discipline.
• Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) with the HRPA preferred.
• Experience with Workday HRISsysteman asset.

Knowledge & Experience:

• 5 years of hands-on experience in human resources.
• Hands-on experience or strong exposure to start-up of facilities is an asset.

Expected Compensation:

• Salary based position with a range of $80000.00 to $90000.00 based on education and experience.

Travel:

• Must hold a valid Passport and be willing to travel up to 5% internationally for training and visiting other company locations predominately the United States of America and Japan.

Schedule:

• Full-time 100% in-person position.
• Typical work hours are Monday to Friday. Attendance at meetings and trainings on off shifts may also be required periodically with flexibility to adjust schedule to meet regular working hours as needed.

This position is based in a temporary structure on the site during the construction phase with transition into new facility in 2027. The final work environment will be at a 24/7 manufacturing operation. This position is in support of manufacturing and requires working in a production environment around chemicals. The manufacturing facility will be a state of the art in terms of automation and being temperature and humidity controlled. This will be a clean and comfortable environment due to the nature of the products being produced.
