Edmonton Public Library is looking for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic service-driven environment and values collaboration and high-quality customer service to join our team as an HR Coordinator. Our team works collaboratively by providing responsive accurate and thoughtful HR support. We support and encourage each other while having fun and working hard!

In this position you will be one of two HR Coordinators who provide front-line HR support to EPLs employees managers and customers. Youll play a key role in delivering responsive accurate and high-quality HR services which include:
  • Receiving triaging and responding to HR inquiries across multiple channels.
  • Administering recruitment processes including posting job opportunities preparing offer letters and posting closure activities.
  • Coordinating the onboarding process including pre-employment requirements and sign-on packages.
  • Managing EPLs applicant tracking system (Taleo) including user support system access and template maintenance.
  • Preparing HR transaction documentation including employee change forms and letters and coordinating with Payroll.
  • Maintaining employee records position data and tracking tools.
  • Preparing and supporting regular and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Maintaining and improving HR templates and forms.
  • Participating as a subject matter expert on an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation project.
  • Supporting HR projects and initiatives.
  • Providing service support to HR Consultants and HR Management to maintain ongoing service delivery and administration for the department.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet timelines with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret policies procedures and collective agreements.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong collaboration skills and team-oriented approach.
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency in Excel.

  • A diploma or degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of directly related experience.
  • Experience working in human resources within a unionized environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Taleo and PeopleSoft is an asset.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactor is an asset.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementation is an asset.

Note: Suitable candidates with less than 2 years of related experience may be considered on a developmental basis.

Hours of Work:35 hours per week Monday to Friday
Pay Band:$62554 to $78193 per annum.
