Join us as aHSE Student for our Ottawadistrict within our Canadian Buildings sectorfor 4 months starting August 31 2026. Depending on your assigned project as a HSE Student you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities
  • Assisting the HSE Professional with inspections and incidental investigations
  • Managing documents (ie. data entry SMC entries taking minutes filing etc.)
  • Assisting with the orientation of new employees
  • Developing of training materials
  • Reviewing paperwork (ie. PSI tailgate meetings safework procedure trend analysis)
  • Monitoring and maintaining the environmental program
  • Recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements
  • Analyzing site-specific trends and incidents and reporting findings to district
  • Gathering/reviewing/distributing safety-related statistical information
  • Interpreting communicating and reinforcing project safety standards to workforce
Qualifications
  • Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures
  • Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance
  • Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards The ability to determine the cause of an incident and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong willingness to learn

The estimated salary range for this role is20.25 - 29.65based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
