That means you will ensure thatfacilities provided are well maintained regulation/procedure are in placeand implemented hazards/aspects assessments are conducted the accident both caused by unsafe acts and conditions are reduced and energy and waste are driven down.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Assist and lead the cultural transformation regarding HSE to help lead plant to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents
  • Be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes
  • Participate in investigations to facilitate closure of identified non-conformances
  • Provide Health and Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities
  • Follow up on non-conformances and develops the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis
  • Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system assist with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillarteam/safety committee and drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence
  • Develop technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards

  • Experience in Environmental Health and Safety
  • Must have completed Environmental Health and Safety training in areas such as OSHA EPA DNREC
  • Experience in safety and/or environmental technical standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels
  • Understanding and knowledge of regulatory reports and compliances including experience with ISO

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in manufacturing at least 4 - 5 years of expereince.

  • Experience in people management (direct reports or cross functionally)

  • Experience with Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) is a plus.

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related field.

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent are desirable however NOT mandatory.

Job Specific Requirements:

  • Develop implement and maintain health safety and environmental policies and procedures. Provide strategic and tactical leadership from a HSE perspective to support business performance. Develop and deploy strategies to reduce HSE risks at the facility.

  • Manage and mentor site HSE team.

  • Promote and foster a culture of safety wellbeing and environmental sustainability across the plant.

  • Drive innovations and excellence by creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local provincial and federal regulations & Utilize the Bradley Curve to benchmark and measure safety performance identifying areas for improvement

  • Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Provide training and support to employees on safety protocols and best practices fostering a culture of continuous safety improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all aspects of operations and promote teamwork and collective responsibility for HSE.

  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and report findings to senior management.

  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.

  • Act as company representative in dealing with regulatory agencies on HSE matters.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required for training conferences or site visits.

Work schedule:

  • This role is required to attend have in person attendance at the Plant. Hours of work are Standard Business Hours with Occasional Flexibility Required to Support a 24/5 Operation.

Salary and Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this position is $93300 to $116650 CAD depending on several factors such as experience skills education and addition to base salary this position is eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 10% with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
