Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA youth aged 16-29 through mental health services social programs and housing. Weoperatea Youth Drop-In Centre offering barrier-free counselling hot meals and community programming and a Transitional Home providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support. This position will support the Transitional Home.

About the Role
As aHousingSupport Workeryou will:
Welcome and orient youth providing compassionate non-judgmental support.
Collaborate with youth to addressgoals safety and care plans.
Build connections with community partners to amplify support.
Support daily operations including reception tasks snack prep andmaintaininga clean safe space.
Provide trauma-informed harm-reduction-based care and crisis support.
Collaborate with volunteers and teammates to foster a positive inclusive environment.
What You Bring
Educationorexperience in social services social sciencesor related fields.
3 years working with youth marginalized groupsin mental health addictionsemergency shelteror residential settings.
Familiarity with anti-oppressiveanti-racisttrauma-informed approaches.
Knowledge of Toronto Shelter Standards SMIS Housing First for Youth and harm reduction models; TREAT is considered an asset.
Strong communicationand teamwork skills.
Ability to manage high stress situations (i.e. crisis and conflict) calmly and confidently.
Current CPR/First-Aid training is.
Bonus: Training inCPI ASIST or UMAB.
