Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA youth aged 16-29 through mental health services social programs and housing. Weoperatea Youth Drop-In Centre offering barrier-free counselling hot meals and community programming and a Transitional Home providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support. This position will support the Transitional Home.

About the Role

As aHousingSupport Workeryou will:

• Welcome and orient youth providing compassionate non-judgmental support.

• Collaborate with youth to addressgoals safety and care plans.

• Build connections with community partners to amplify support.

• Support daily operations including reception tasks snack prep andmaintaininga clean safe space.

• Provide trauma-informed harm-reduction-based care and crisis support.

• Collaborate with volunteers and teammates to foster a positive inclusive environment.

What You Bring

• Educationorexperience in social services social sciencesor related fields.

• 3 years working with youth marginalized groupsin mental health addictionsemergency shelteror residential settings.

• Familiarity with anti-oppressiveanti-racisttrauma-informed approaches.

• Knowledge of Toronto Shelter Standards SMIS Housing First for Youth and harm reduction models; TREAT is considered an asset.

• Strong communicationand teamwork skills.

• Ability to manage high stress situations (i.e. crisis and conflict) calmly and confidently.

• Current CPR/First-Aid training is.

• Bonus: Training inCPI ASIST or UMAB.

• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check clearance.

• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

• Mustresidein Ontario.

• Availability for various shifts including overnights weekends and holidays.
