If you share our values and would like to work with skilled professionals Armour is presently seeking a Hotel AccountantReporting to the Hotel Controller the Hotel Accountant will work closely with the accounting staff and Management teams at the Delta Hotel by Marriot Dartmouth Barrington hotel and Muir Hotel in Downtown Halifax. The Hotel Accountant is involved in all aspects of day-to-day financial accounting of our hospitality the Hotel Accountant youll get to:Prepare timely and accurate journal entries as required in completing the day-to-day accounting and financial month-end close processPerform account reconciliation and ensure accuracy of cost allocationProvide support to inventory and supplies trackingAssist with the accounts receivable process including group master billing payment processing and collection reporting and reconciling the daily hotel revenue and receivablesWork closely with sales room reservation and front desk and provide support to resolve billing and payment issues in timely manner and maintenance customer service satisfactionAssist with accounts payable processingRegularly visit the properties to perform cash balancing reconciliations and float countsAssist with financial statement preparation and reviewAssist with activities related to the year-end audit and annual budgetWhat were looking for:Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to partnering with department leaders in the Hospitality divisionProficient in the use of ExcelAbility to multi-task and prioritizeStrong analytical thinker who operates with a high attention to detailKnowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software considered an assetKnowledge of Opera PMS software would be considered an assetUniversity degree or technical diploma with a focus in finance or accountingMinimum 2-3 years related experience preferably in the hospitality in it for youComprehensive benefits package including Health and Dental Benefits LTD and Life InsuranceRRSPsPaid vacation daysPaid sick daysBonus potentialRate discounts at all Marriott properties worldwideEmployee Assistance ProgramContinuing education supportDiscounts at selected Queens Marque restaurantsOn-site fitness facilitiesOpportunity for internal career growthWorking along side a collaborative team of likeminded individualsAs Armour Group is a family organization we value our employees and their well-being.
