Hours: 35 hrs/week

Location: Hybrid

Compensation: $29.69-32.99

Start date: August 2026

Contract Length: August 2026 - July 2027

Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) seeking a dedicated and passionate Program Coordinator to lead the implementation of our Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program. This role is ideal for an individual who is committed to supporting newcomer and diverse families through early childhood education parent engagement and community-based service delivery.

The HIPPY Coordinator plays a central role in delivering an innovative model that integrates home-based early childhood education maternal capacity building and peer support and access to licensed childcare as an enabling support. Through this work the HIPPY Coordinator helps strengthen child development and school readiness maternal confidence and well-being and family stability.

What Youll Do

  • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the HIPPY program.

  • Recruit onboard train and supervise Home Visitors.

  • Lead outreach recruitment and engagement of participating families

  • Facilitate bi-weekly group meetings and parent learning activities

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and referral agencies

  • Support families in accessing childcare and community resources

  • Monitor program outcomes maintain records and prepare reports

  • Represent PIRS at community events and outreach activities


What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education Social Work Family Studies Adult Education Community Development Settlement Services or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Experience working with diverse families including newcomers and refugees

  • Experience supervising coaching and supporting staff and/or volunteers

  • Experience facilitating training workshops or group programs

  • Knowledge of early childhood development and school readiness principles

  • Strong organizational communication and relationship-building skills

  • Experience with program reporting data collection and outcomes measurement

  • Additional language skills are considered an asset

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position (35 hours/week) dependent on program funding

  • Combination of office community virtual and home visitation work

  • Regular travel throughout the service area

  • Exposure to emotionally complex situations requiring professionalism sound judgment and adherence to organizational protocols

  • Occasional evening and weekend activities

  • Criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check is required
