Position: Health & Safety Coordinator
Industry: Automotive Tier 1 Manufacturing
Location: KWC Area
Shift: Days
Position Type: Full-time Permanent (Direct Hire)
Pay: $80000 $90000

Qualifications Required:
  • College or University Certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong understanding of industrial systems and equipment including hydraulic pneumatic electrical and mechanical systems
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation regulations and industry best practices
  • Excellent organizational communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to take initiative lead change and effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety/data management systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated history of professionalism dependability and teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and support a safe and healthy workplace culture while maintaining compliance with ISO 45001 standards
  • Serve as a trusted safety resource for employees by addressing concerns providing guidance and helping identify and reduce workplace hazards
  • Advocate for employee well-being and ensure safety issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner
  • Participate actively in Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of workplace safety culture
  • Collaborate closely with operations maintenance engineering and leadership teams to integrate safety into daily operations
  • Support new equipment and program launches through workstation reviews risk assessments and pre-start health and safety evaluations
  • Develop and deliver engaging health and safety training programs to promote safe work practices
  • Maintain and update safety policies procedures and programs to ensure compliance and ease of understanding
  • Manage the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) system and ensure all documentation remains accurate and current
  • Assist with safety audits inspections and incident investigations including identifying root causes and tracking corrective actions
  • Monitor analyze and report key safety metrics to support ongoing improvement initiatives
  • Foster a positive behavior-based safety culture through coaching employee engagement and reinforcement of safe practices
  • Support contractor safety management and ensure all contractors comply with on-site safety expectations
  • Participate in layered process audits and continuous improvement activities
  • Assist with additional health and safety projects and responsibilities as assigned
