This is a unique opportunity in Manulifes General Account (GA) Investment teama global platform that supports the companys long-term financial obligations through sophisticated liability-driven investment strategies. By aligning asset portfolios with product liabilities this role contributes directly to our mission of delivering sustainable risk-adjusted returns. Participants will gain exposure to traditional and alternative asset classes mentorship from seasoned professionals and hands-on experience in a collaborative high-performance environment.
You will have the opportunity to work with one or more of the following specialized teams:
Real Estate Finance
Manage commercial mortgage loan portfolios across North America and Asia.
Participate in origination servicing and portfolio management.
Learn about real assets and structured lending through a network of 14 regional offices.
Global Portfolio Management
Engage in fixed income portfolio management FX and liquidity trading and ESG investing.
Participate in strategic asset decisions and daily trading operations.
Develop hands-on experience in sustainable finance and cross-functional collaboration.
Global Asset Liability Management (GALM)
Align investment strategies with liability profiles across GA and segregated funds.
Support hedging strategic asset allocation and risk modeling.
Dive deep into financial strategy and enterprise risk management.
Chief Operating Office (COO)
Drive non-investment strategy and operations across GA Investments.
Support performance reporting governance and technology transformation.
Ideal for students interested in business operations analytics and enterprise strategy.
Position Responsibilities:
Gain valuable and diverse experience with multiple asset classes and front office exposure
Support investment and operational activities across one or more specialized GA teams
Assist in sourcing underwriting and monitoring investments across asset classes and geographies
Participate in portfolio management trading operations and strategic asset allocation
Contribute to financial modeling performance reporting and governance initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support innovation and operational excellence
Required Qualifications:
Expected to graduate in 2027from an accredited university with a degree in Finance Economics or Business Administration
Working knowledge of investment and financial markets
Demonstrated understanding of financial and investment analysis techniques
Ability to be flexible creative and proactive in a challenging and fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Excel Word and PowerPoint with a strong ability to learn new software quickly
Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative statistical analysis

Salary range is expected to be between
$80000.00 CAD - $130000.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training.
