Geotechnical Field Technician

The successful candidate will assist in the planning setup and execution of geotechnical field investigations for transportation and infrastructure projects.

• Conduct site inspection and compaction testing
• Conduct asphalt and concrete coring operations
• Observe and record site conditions drainage patterns and construction operations
• Support for laboratory and factual reporting teams
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project objectives on time and within budget. 
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards codes and health & safety regulations.

Qualifications :

• Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology Degree
• Prior experience in site inspection and testing an asset.
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to operate handheld drilling equipment and work safely in active roadway construction sites
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel and perform fieldwork including site investigations and construction monitoring
• Understanding of geotechnical engineering principles soil mechanics and soil identification considered an asset
• G Class Drivers Licence
