McCain Foods Canada is seeking a General Operator to join the team at the Grand Falls Plant on a 6-month temporary contract. This role plays a key part in supporting plant operations by ensuring safe efficient production processes while maintaining quality and compliance standards. The General Operator will work in a fast-paced environment contributing to equipment operation material handling and continuous improvement initiatives. This role operates on the following shift: 4 days on (2 day shifts and 2 night shifts) followed by 4 days off.
- Ensure the safety of yourself and your co-workers at all times
- Perform material handling including lifting and moving 19 kg boxes and bags
- Follow changeover policies and production requirements
- Support sanitation duties as required
- Troubleshoot adjust and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs)
- Support SQCDPE targets by understanding and contributing to KPI achievement
- Follow Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and participate in STEP safety programs
- Identify and help resolve production issues in a fast-paced team environment
- Participate in team meetings and complete required training and e-learning courses
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with supervisors and production teams
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Basic computer skills are an asset
- Good mathematical skills with ability to complete production documentation accurately
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated initiative adaptability and a positive attitude
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced continuously changing environment
- Willingness to learn and operate lift trucks (experience is an asset)
- Proven commitment to safety with a strong safety record
Youll be part of the Grand Falls Plant production team collaborating closely with supervisors and fellow operators to ensure efficient safe and high-quality operations. The team environment is fast-paced supportive and focused on continuous improvement and shared success.

Compensation Package:Starting at $22.24CAD hourly
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience skill set education/training and other organizational needs.This posting is for an existing vacancy.
