Job Description

GC Construction Quality Manager

The Construction Quality Manageris responsible fordeveloping implementing andmaintainingthe project quality management system for construction projects. This role ensures that all workcomplies withcontract requirements industry standards local codes and company qualityobjectives while driving continuous improvement across field operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Management & Compliance
  • Develop and implement the Project Quality Management Plan (QMP) in alignment with company standards contract requirements and GTAA requirements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes regulations and client specifications
  • Establish inspection and testing procedures for all phases of construction
  • Monitor adherence to quality standards across subcontractors and self-perform work
  • Inspections & Audits
  • Oversee and coordinate inspections testing and documentation of construction work
  • Conduct internal quality audits and jobsite reviews toidentifydeficiencies
  • Ensuretimelyresolution of non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Maintain inspection records reports and turnover documentation
  • Evaluate subcontractor quality plans and ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Conduct pre-installation meetings to align on quality expectations
  • Monitor subcontractor work for compliance with specifications and drawings
  • Maintain all quality-related documentation including:
  • Inspection and test plans (ITPs)
  • Non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Corrective action reports
  • Daily quality logs
  • Prepare quality reports for project leadership and clients
  • Support project closeout by ensuring completion of punch lists and turnover packages
  • Work closely with Project Managers Superintendents and Safety teams
  • Support coordination with client representatives inspectors and third-party agencies
  • Lead quality meetings and training sessions for project staff
  • Identifyopportunities to improve processes productivity and workmanship
  • Promote a culture of quality and accountability across project teams
  • Analyze quality trends and implement preventive measures
  • Coordinate construction activities across multiple disciplines to ensure a smooth BHS installation

Qualifications

  • Preferred to have a bachelors degree in construction management engineering or related field
  • 7 years of construction experience with at least 3 years in a quality control/quality management role
  • Experience working with a general contractor on commercial industrial or infrastructure projects
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • ISO 9001 or similar quality management system experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and codes
  • Experience with QA/QC processes inspections and documentation systems
  • Proficiencyin construction management software (e.g. Procore Autodesk Bluebeam)

  • Accuracy and completeness of project documentation
  • Must be able tocomply withsite safety requirements and PPE usage
  • Reports to: Project Construction Manager
  • Works closely with: Superintendents Engineers Safety Manager and Subcontractors

Salary range:

This is a full-time position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. Salary range for this position is CAD$130000 to CAD$165000.
