Forklift Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our clients warehouse team.

• This is a Temporary to Permanent Role and pays $20.21 to start. The shift is from 12PM to 8PM Monday to Friday.
  
• During the training period the hours are 10AM to 6PM Monday to Friday.
  
• This position starts right away and requires a person with a forklift license for a sit down counter balance. This person will be driving a Sit Down Counter Balance Forklift that is electric.
  
• Priority is given to people with at least 3 years of experience.
  

This role is essential for efficiently managing inventory ensuring safe handling of materials and maintaining smooth warehouse operations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where safety accuracy and efficiency are paramount.

Duties

• Safely operate forklifts to move materials throughout the warehouse
  
• Load and unload shipments with precision ensuring proper handling of goods
  
• Pick and prepare orders accurately using warehouse management systems (WMS)
  
• Perform heavy lifting tasks as required adhering to safety protocols
  
• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure optimal operation
  
• Assist with inventory management by organizing stock and maintaining accurate records
  
• Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with team members for efficient workflow
  
• Utilize basic math skills for counting measuring and verifying quantities during order picking and packing processes
  

Requirements

Skills

• Proven experience operating forklifts
  
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for order processing and inventory control
  
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  
• Basic math skills for accurate order picking and inventory counts
  
• Knowledge of warehouse distribution procedures and safety standards
  
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team in a warehouse setting is essential
