In this role the Financial Analystwill have direct responsibility overa portfolio of projects with a primary focus onfinancial analysisreportingandproject accounting activities. The incumbent willsupport projectfinancial management including forecasting revenue recognition and performance analysis.
Description
- Work in collaboration with Program Managementto supportprojectfinancial management includingassessingEstimate at Completion (EAC) requirements and developingproject financial forecasts.
- Support the application of IFRS with a particular focus on IFRS 15 in the context of customer contracts.
- Prepare and reviewfinancial information forthe assigned project portfolioon a periodic basis (monthlyquarterlyand annual).
- Prepare analysis ofprojectperformanceand perform variance analysis on a periodic basis including but not limited to month-end forecasts and budgets.
- Performscenario assessments including the evaluation of EACchanges and related financial impacts to support projectfinancial planning and performance monitoring.
- Assistin initiativesincluding but not limitedto reportingenhancementdata integrity and process improvements within the accounting environment.
- Supportinternal and external audit activities.
- Support month-end close and forecasting activitiesrelated to the assigned project portfolio.
- Participate in business process troubleshooting and enhancement initiatives ( OraclePower BI) whereappropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years offinancial analysis and reporting experience.
- In depth knowledge of accounting principles public company financial reporting & practices experience.
- Proven management accounting skills and experience.
- Experience in project or contract-based accounting environments.
- Proven experience in preparing complex business models.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel Word Power Point Access Visio).
- Fluency in English and French.
PreferredQualifications
- Professional accounting designation (CA CPA).
- Experience in project accounting or contract-based accounting environments.
- Knowledge ofcosting principlesand margin analysis within a projector contract-based environment.
- Experiencewith long-term contractsaccounted for using the percentage of completion revenue recognitionmethodology.
- Experience supporting forecasting processes.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Knowledge and experiencewithOracle andHyperion(HyperionPlanning and Hyperion Enterprise).
- Exposure to corporate consolidation processes.
- Excellent analytical conceptual thinking communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to thrive in afast-paced and deadline-orientedenvironment requiringcontinuous process improvement.
- Ability to manage stress and work well under pressure e.g. meeting deadlines whilst delivering a high standard of work.
- Ability to learn about the financial requirements of new/different countries.
- Able to work within a team environment and contribute towards teamobjectivesand meeting all required deadlines.
- Able to assimilate ad-hoc and diverse information create/provide financial models and/or analysis and present it to management successfully.
- Proven ability to analyseprojectfinancial performance including identification and assessment of risks and opportunities.
