Extruder Operator

Responsibilities:

• Be able to set up troubleshoot and make minor changes to machines.
• Monitor quality / complete quality reports.
• Process incoming and in-house materials as required.
• Organize and maintain the extrusion work area including storage areas for staged and surplus product waiting to be ground.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area including the extruder machines and ancillary equipment.
• Material handling.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through compliance to H & S policies.
• Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices.

Skills and Requirements:

• Sound troubleshooting skills with a strong mechanical background.
• Should have or be willing to learn knowledge of raw materials production processes quality control costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of machines and tools including designs uses repairs and maintenance.
• Must be a certified forklift operator or be willing and able to achieve certification.
• An understanding of the basic concepts of injection molding plastics processing.
• Comfortable working in a fast pace environment.
• Self-motivated; ability to work without supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with attention to details.
• Shift flexibility with the ability to work overtime is a requirement ability to work both continental (12 hr) and conventional (8 hr) shifts if required.
