Job Summary
Lead the estimating process from opportunity review through bid submission.
Review and interpret prime contracts tender documents drawings specifications and commercial requirements.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for civil and concrete scopes including excavation foundations underground services structural concrete grading and site development.
Solicit evaluate and level subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Develop detailed estimates bid summaries pricing strategies and proposal submissions.
Identify project risks opportunities exclusions and scope gaps.
Collaborate with operations project management and business development teams to develop execution strategies and estimate assumptions.
Participate in bid reviews client clarifications and post-bid negotiations as required.
Maintain estimating databases historical cost information and productivity benchmarks.
Support project handover and transition to operations upon award.
Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering Construction Engineering Technology Construction Management or a related discipline.
6 years of estimating experience supporting industrial heavy civil infrastructure power mining or nuclear construction projects.
Proven experience managing the estimating process from start to finish including bid strategy quantity take-offs subcontractor pricing bid closing and submission.
Strong experience reviewing and interpreting prime contracts specifications contract documents and commercial terms and conditions.
Demonstrated ability to independently prepare detailed estimates for complex construction projects.
Strong understanding of civil construction methods sequencing productivity and risk assessment.
Experience performing quantity take-offs and cost analysis using industry-standard estimating tools.
Excellent analytical organizational negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple pursuits and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience estimating EPC Design-Build Construction Management and Lump Sum projects.
Previous industrial power generation nuclear mining or major infrastructure project experience.
Knowledge of InEight and similar estimating software.
