Estimator, Building Construction

Youre an Estimator with 15 years of construction experience and an interest in growing your estimating career. You have exposure to quantity take-offs cost analysis subcontractor pricing and bid preparation and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.

Youll support the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for commercial residential and light industrial construction projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Support subcontractor and supplier solicitation review quotes and assist with bid comparisons and selections
• Review drawings specifications and project documents to support the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates
• Complete quantity take-offs and pricing across various scopes of work maintaining clear and accurate estimating documentation
• Assist with RFIs bid requirements scope reviews and the preparation of tender submissions
• Work closely with estimators project teams subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing and project information
• Participate in site visits estimate reviews and pre-award meetings while continuing to build knowledge of construction costs and estimating practices

Qualifications:

• 15 years of estimating project coordination or related construction experience ideally within commercial residential or light industrial construction
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management Quantity Surveying Estimating Engineering or a related field
• Experience reading construction drawings specifications and other project documentation
• Exposure to quantity take-offs construction pricing budgeting and the tendering process
• Experience with MS Office and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST); BIM experience is considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail organization and communication skills with an interest in continuing to develop your estimating knowledge
