Location: Toronto Ontario (This is an in-person position. Teaching will be delivered in-person at 443 University Ave)

Description:

ILSC-Toronto is seeking qualified and dynamic ESL Teachers available to work mornings (8.30 am - 1.00 pm) Monday to Friday in a friendly fast-paced environment. Schedules may include teaching between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:15 pm based on student demand. You will teach ILSCs diverse range of English programs and courses to adult learners.

ILSC offers English language courses in the following general and specialized areas:

• Communication
• Creative and Cultural English courses (ie. English Through Films English Through Arts English Through Music)
• Business English
• Academic English
• Test Preparation (IELTS Cambridge exams)
• Junior Programs (teaching students aged 13-17) - June-August

Job Duties:

Teachers prepare lessons designed to increase students language skills their accuracy and fluency appropriate to a broad range of situations and needs and in accordance with the ILSC Curriculum Guidelines and Course Outlines. High quality delivery is duties of this positioninclude but are not limited to:

• Eliciting students interests and language needs in an organized way
• Assessing students language needs and planning lessons in accords with ILSC Course Curriculum and Student Progress Reports for the level being taught
• Selecting appropriate materials and resources (including ILSC online resources)
• Using materials effectively
• Creating an atmosphere that encourages all students equally in self- expression self-reflection cooperation and leadership
• Planning outings that reflect the experiential aspect of language and culture
• Evaluating progress (ongoing) and conferring with students individually according to the specifics outlined in the Monthly Progress Report
• Teaching lessons prepared by the classroom teacher utilizing various materials and technologies as required
• Leaving details for the teacher when finished covering the class to support a smooth transition back tot he classroom teacher
• Maintains current and accurate class records including daily attendance records into computerized database

• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required

All ESL teachers at ILSC must possess the following qualifications:

• A completed Bachelors degree from a recognised university
• A completed TESL certificate recognized by TESL Canada (or equivalent e.g. CELTA)
• Previous teaching experience either in Canada or overseas
• Ability to communicate fluently and accurately in written and oral English
• Demonstrated proficiency with current technology tools and online learning platforms including: Microsofts Office Suite specifically Outlook Teams SharePoint and Excel
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and courteously with students and staff who may come from differing cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize organize and complete tasks with minimal supervision
