Context
Systra is looking for an Environmental Manager to join the growing team in Ontario.
Missions/Main Duties
Support the Environmental Lead in implementing environmental requirements across project design and delivery;
Completes the review of previously completed investigations and reporting.
Identify data gaps and commitments.
Oversees development of the DD&I scope and schedule.
Coordinates with the Environmental Design and Approvals Manager for applicable subject matter expert teams.
Lead the subject matter expert team tasked to complete DD&I work and reporting for area of responsibility.
Incorporates requirements and commitments into design.
Confirms that requirements and commitments are executed. Leads environmental design integration across all technical disciplines for their area of responsibility.
Coordinates with design teams construction leads and regulators to resolve environmental risks.
Responsible for environmental deliverables (including EMPs) schedules and multidisciplinary coordination.
assist with preparation and review of environmental documentation and drawings;
Profile/Skills
Degree or diploma in Environmental Science Environmental Technology or related field;
6 years of work-related experience on projects of similar size scope and complexity to the Project;
knowledge of the Province of Ontarios Transit Rail Project Assessment Process GO Transit Class EA Document and Environmental Assessment Act (Ontario);
Experience in successfully managing all Environmental Aspects of transit projects in the Province of Ontario;
Knowledge of relevant federal and Ontario environmental policies procedures and legislation;
Experience with implementation and management of environmental management systems that conform to ISO 14001;
Experience liaising with other specialty consultants contractors and Governmental Authorities; and
Experience with similar projects in the Province of of environmental mitigation and monitoring.
Environmental certifications (e.g. EPt ECO Canada credentials) considered an asset.
