The Opportunity
Our Canada Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Rotations Program is looking to add three early-career engineering professionals to join TC Energy through structured rotational roles in:
- Project Engineering
- Facilities Reliability & Integrity (FRI)Engineering
- Pipeline Integrity (PI)Engineering
The program has opportunities for new graduate engineers in our various regional and field offices including but not limited to the following:
- Calgary Alberta
- WinnipegManitoba
- Eastern Canadalocations inOntario and Quebec
The Canada EIT Rotations Program is a structured development program designed to strengthen TC Energys future engineering talent pipeline by providing early-career engineers with planned cross-functional experience field exposure and progressive responsibility. Participants will gain broad technical operational and business experience while building the capabilities required to support professional licensure and long-term career growth at TC Energy.
Successful candidates will be hired into the Canada EIT Rotations Program and assigned toan initialrotational placement in one of the three participatingorganizationslisted above. These are rotational development positions not permanent placements into a single team location or discipline. Participants are expected to complete multiple rotational assignments during the Program with individual rotations typically lasting up to24 months. Rotational assignments may include office-based work field exposure field-based assignments operational support and potential relocation depending on business and development needs.
Participation in rotational moves and assignment transitions is an expectedcomponentof the Canada EIT Rotations Program. Progression through rotational assignments and final placement decisions will bedeterminedthrough Program governance processes and will consider business needs workforce planning priorities participant performancedemonstratedcapabilitiesprofessionallicensure readiness career interests and available opportunities at the time. Candidates should be prepared to move between approved rotational assignments throughout the Program.
Whatyoulldo
Depending on yourinitialrotational assignment and future rotations you may:
- Support engineering work in Project Engineering Facilities Reliability & Integrity Pipeline Integrity or other approved rotational areas.
- Contribute to engineering design project execution technical assessments integrity management reliability initiatives operational support and asset lifecycle activities.
- Apply engineering principles to support safe reliable compliant and efficient operation of TC Energy assets.
- Participate in technical studies field reviews investigations risk assessments engineering evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Workwith engineers technologists operations teams project teams contractors vendors and other internal stakeholders.
- Build practical engineering experience through field exposure operational activities and cross-functional assignments.
- Develop engineering judgment technical capability business awareness and professional practice experience in support of future licensure.
- Participate in planned rotation transitions onboarding activities knowledge transfer and development discussions.
- Demonstrate flexibility and commitment to completing rotational assignments as part of the Program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineeringfrom an accredited university program
- Registered or eligible to register as an Engineer-in-Training with the applicable provincial engineering regulator.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previousinternship co-op field project operations integrity pipeline facility or energy industry experience.
- Interest in developing a career in energy infrastructure engineering practice project execution asset integrity reliability or operations support.
- Demonstrated curiosity initiative accountability adaptability and commitment to active learning.
- Strong analytical problem-solving communication and collaboration skills.
- Interest in gaining broad technical and business experience across multiple engineering functions.
This position requires candidates to:
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness toparticipatein a structured rotational development program including assignments across different teams functions locations and work environments which may involveworking in the fieldtravel overnight stays temporary assignments and relocation as.
- Maintain a valid drivers license and provide a drivers abstract for review.
- Successfully complete all required pre-employment screening which may include criminal credit medical drug and alcohol or other background checks depending on role requirements and applicable law.
