The Employer Liaison / Outreach plays a critical role in supporting participants in a reskilling and employment program focused on building in-demand data analytics skills. This includes preparing participants for entry-level roles in data analysis reporting and business intelligence across a range of industries.
This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong employer relationships identifying job placement opportunities and supporting participants as they transition from training into sustainable employment. The Employer Liaison ensures alignment between employer needs and participant skills helping to create inclusive and long-term employment pathways.
This is a full-time 2-year contract position with a hybrid work model including a minimum of three days per week on-site at YWCA Hamilton and regular community-based employer engagement.
Employer Engagement & Relationship Building
Develop and maintain partnerships with local employers industry leaders and community organizations with a focus on data technology and analytics-related sectors
Conduct outreach to identify job placement internship and work experience opportunities
Promote the program and communicate the value of hiring participants with data analytics training
Act as the primary point of contact for employer partners ensuring strong and ongoing relationships
Represent YWCA Hamilton at networking events and community engagements Job Development & Placement
Identify and secure employment opportunities aligned with participant skills in data analytics and related fields
Match participants to appropriate roles such as Data Analyst Reporting Analyst and Junior Business Intelligence roles
Coordinate interviews job trials and hiring processes
Support both participants and employers through onboarding and early employment stages
Help employers understand participant skill sets and support successful integration into the workplace
Employer Support & Retention
Maintain consistent communication with employers to support successful placements and retention
Address workplace challenges and facilitate solutions to ensure positive outcomes
Promote inclusive equitable and supportive workplace practices
Encourage repeat hiring and long-term employer partnerships
Gather feedback from employers to strengthen program outcomes and participant readiness
Collaboration & Teamwork
Work closely with the Vocational Specialist to align participant skills with labour market needs
Coordinate with the Client Success Coordinator to ensure participants are job-ready and supported throughout placement
Participate in team meetings case conferences and program planning sessions
Contribute to a collaborative participant-centered team environment
Labour Market Insights & Program Development
Stay informed on local labour market trends particularly in data analytics and emerging digital roles
Identify in-demand tools platforms and skills (e.g. Excel SQL Power BI Tableau)
Provide feedback to support program design curriculum alignment and continuous improvement
Identify new and emerging sectors for participant employment opportunities
Data Tracking & Reporting
Track employer engagement activities job placements and employment outcomes
Maintain accurate records of employer contacts partnerships and opportunities
Contribute to program reporting evaluation and success stories
Use data insights to strengthen outreach strategies and improve results
Working Conditions
Hybrid work environment with a minimum of two (2) days per week on-site at YWCA Hamilton
Regular community-based employer outreach and local travel required
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications & Experience
Post-secondary education in Business Human Resources Social Services or a related field (or equivalent experience)
24 years of experience in employer engagement job development recruitment or workforce development
Strong understanding of employer needs and hiring practices
Familiarity with data analytics digital skills training or technology-related roles is an asset
Experience working with diverse communities including women and gender-diverse individuals facing employment barriers
Knowledge of local labour market trends and employer needs
Skills & Competencies

Ability to translate participant skills into employer value
Strong organizational and time management skills
Problem-solving and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM or case management systems
