Wage Range: $38.17 - $39.02 per hour. Start rate non-negotiable.
Shifts: Day shifts between 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Status: Temporary Part-Time (Up to 6 months)

Position Summary
As an integral member of the Facility Management Service department the principal responsibilities of the Electrician include: installing and maintaining electrical circuits all types of electrical equipment appliances lighting fixtures and other systems as needed; troubleshooting and testing electrical systems and electronic equipment to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components; conducting preventative maintenance/repair responsibilities following quality assurance and safety procedures continually; completing work orders; performing cross-functional and/or other duties as assigned and/or required
Duties
- Installs and maintains electrical circuits all types of electrical equipment appliances lighting fixtures and other systems as needed.
- Troubleshoots and tests electrical systems and electronic equipment to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
- Conducts preventative maintenance/repair responsibilities following quality assurance and safety procedures continually.
- Completes work orders.
- Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations reporting hazards deficiencies and contraventions of the Act in a timely manner.
- Performs cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required.
- Performs other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned and/or required including maintaining all required records and information pertinent to the costing of work assignments; assisting with staff orientation etc.
Qualifications :
- At minimum completion of high school plus Electrician Apprenticeship program
- 5 years 9000 hours of apprenticeship training which includes approx. 8760 hours on-the-job training 8 - 10 weeks (240 - 300 hours) of technical training in a classroom in each year for four years.
- Construction and Maintenance Electrician License 309A
- 5 to 8 years of practical and related experience and/or Apprenticeship 3 to 5 years on the job training required.
- Good mathematical skills required
- Good strength and manual dexterity skills required
- Ability to distinguish colors to work with color-coded wiring required
- Ability to read and understand blueprints electrical schematics and Electrical Code Book required
- Ability to work in constricted spaces required
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards.
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task.
- Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy.
- Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable legislative UHN and/or departmental policies.
- Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
