Plains is looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical / Instrumentation Technician to support our Regina Saskatchewan and area facilities. Reporting to the Area Supervisor as a key member of the Electrical Instrumentation and Controls department youll play an essential role in keeping our stations terminals and gathering systems running safely reliably and at peak efficiency. Youll work with modern equipment have the autonomy to solve problems in the field and be part of a team that values craftsmanship safety and pride in doing the job right.

Permanent residency within 100 km of Regina is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain troubleshoot repair install and commission electrical equipment such as PLCs instrumentation motor control centers motors switchgear VFDs MOVs HVACs and other electrical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Understand and apply Canadian Electrical Code requirements.
  • Inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using electrical and electronic devices.
  • Consult manufacturer manuals circuit diagrams and blueprints to determine tests and maintenance procedures.
  • Provide electrical support and maintenance to ensure system reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance for all electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Complete all written and electronic records (work orders maintenance reports calibration sheets time entry material requests drawings) required to document work in progress and upon completion.
  • Provide oncall support during nonbusiness hours for emergency response and maintenance breakins.
  • Provide technical input and scope development for operations projects and turnarounds.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Interprovincial Electrical Journeyperson or dualticketed as an Instrumentation and Control Technician
  • 510 years prior gas plant refinery pipeline or oilfield experience
  • PLC experience considered a strong asset
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo preferred) MS Word / Excel and Outlook
  • Strong troubleshooting problemsolving and optimization skills
  • Selfmotivated and energetic with effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals in a busy field environment
  • Strong focus on safety and accountability for safety performance
  • Valid drivers license with a clean abstract
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the Companys drug and alcohol policy including preemployment D&A testing #Plains
