Position Summary
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Inventory and Warehouse Supervisor to oversee warehouse operations inventory management shipping and receiving and e-commerce fulfillment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy optimizing warehouse operations supporting production requirements and managing online store inventory while leading the shipping and warehouse team.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in warehouse and inventory management within a manufacturing environment combined with expertise in ERP systems e-commerce fulfillment and team leadership.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Warehouse and Inventory Management and 2 Years of managing e-commerce store in conjunction with Manufacturing is required.
- A degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management is required.
- Experience in an on-line start-up is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are required.
- Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in optimizing warehouse space and organization.
- Must be familiar with fulfilling parts orders and integrating them with manufacturing demands for parts.
- Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel and familiar with the use of ERP systems and working knowledge of VISUAL Manufacturing would be beneficial.
- Superior communication and leadership skills are required.
- A tow motor certification is preferred.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Responsible for organizing and maintaining the Inventory and Warehouse space including Interior Warehouse Exterior Storage including Containers Roll ports and inventory located in Work Cells.
- Develop policies standards and procedures for product handling and storage by determining product handling and storage requirements equipment utilization inventory issuing or transfer between storage areas issuing of raw stock to complete parts transition and shipping methods.
- Responsible for all Cycle Counts Daily Weekly Bi-Weekly and Monthly as well as mid-year and year-end counts.
- Controls and manages all the Aftermarket Parts and Manufactured components and ensures ONLINE STORE inventory is managed in the Shopify Application and Inventory is successfully moved from General Inventory to ONLINE as required when minimum levels are reached.
- Close all ONLINE orders in Visual immediately upon shipment.
- Collaborate with Production for Order Scheduling to ensure all required materials are available for Production to be uninterrupted.
- Responsible for collaborating with Purchasing to ensure that all Purchase Orders are executed on time to ensure there are no stockouts for any production materials.
- Responsible for coordinating with work cells to determine their stock requirements and ensures materials are delivered so that production is on time and issues inventory to the respective work areas.
- Responsible for receiving inbound inventory and ensuring correct storage and placement of same within the same day.
- Responsible for all order Pick/Pack/ Ship outs for Canada/USA Sales requirements with new Quantity Control Documentation and Sign offs to eliminate shortages.
- Retrieves manufactured stock and places in correct storage area and modifies inventory from raw stock to final product stock numbers.
- Responsible for all inbound parts from China placing into inventory for both general warehouse and ON-LINE store inventory and manages movement of stock between general warehouse and ON-LINE store to ensure the ON-LINE store always shows max inventory levels.
- Liaises with Purchasing on PO placement and expected delivery dates. Sends off Warning to Purchasing when stock is critical to follow up with vendors supplying the materials/parts.
- Supervises the Shipping department staff and provides daily work directions for managing inventory completing cycle counts along with shipping and receiving of inbound and outbound freight.
- Provides training and instruction to the Shipping and Receiving team regarding Visual Shopify and Rate fx and the use of Excel.
- Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics and meeting customer service needs.
- Collaborate with production and engineering to ensure all stock parts and inventory never fall below minimum levels to meet demand min/max requirements for the forecasted orders and parts and ON-LINE store sale requirements.
- Leads and collaborates on the implementation of the on-Line store project including integration with Freight applications.
- Responsible for recommending and implementing an Inventory Management system (e.g. Kanban) process that ensures all parts and assemblies maintain a daily min/max inventory level.
- Reconciles all discrepancies between actual counts and ERP system inventory amounts in conjunction with Engineering ERP Leader
- Reviews and recommendations for changes to inventory organization bar coding and staffing to improve production throughput and quality.
- Ensures all Purchase Requestions are completed and sent to Purchasing/Engineering in a timely manner to ensure production and parts orders can be fulfilled on time and to meet minimum stock requirements.
- Responsible for coordinating all ship out of system orders with shipping team confirming all materials are on SKID according to Order Specifications and takes all pictures of the skid for inclusion in the sales file for reference.
- Responsible for maintaining a healthy and safe work environment and enforces standards and procedures by complying with legal regulations.
- Performs Performance Appraisals for all Shipping Department staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
