The Challenge Ahead
As a Principal Domain Architecture you will play a critical role in shaping and governing BHPs end-to-end technology architecture of complex OT IT and IT/OT integrated solutions with a strong focus on site-based operational systems and infrastructure for our asset with designs of organic and sustainable integration to enable safe secure and high-value business outcomes. Operating at a strategic level you will translate enterprise and business objectives into robust technology strategies roadmaps and architectural models.
You will operate within BHPs architectural framework and provide expert architectural governance and advisory across complex portfolios ensuring technology solutions are aligned with BHP standards future-ready and deliver measurable value. This role requires deep technical expertise strong stakeholder influence and the ability to connect strategy to execution across a large diverse organization.
Key Responsibilities
Apply BHP architecture tools and best practices to design develop review and approve architecture guardrails including standards patterns reference architectures and position papers.
Develop and align technology strategies long-term roadmaps and architectural models with current and future business needs.
Manage and assess technology service portfolios to identify risks dependencies improvement opportunities and value optimization.
Provide specialist architectural advisory to senior stakeholders on governance frameworks standards and complex design decisions.
Translate corporate objectives into actionable plans track implementation progress and report outcomes to support strategic delivery.
Lead the evaluation selection and design of technology solutions working closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure fit-for-purpose outcomes.
Identify engage and manage diverse internal and external stakeholders facilitating workshops and presentations that influence and align.
Define value drivers frame opportunities and assess investment viability to support informed decision-making.
Champion safety customer value and waste reduction striving for 100% safety 100% customer value and 0% waste.
What Youll Bring to the Role
Extensive experience in technology and enterprise architecture including strategy development governance portfolio management and complex system design
Proven ability to develop and embed architecture standards guardrails and governance models in large complex environments
Strong capability to translate business strategy into integrated architectural roadmaps and execution plans
Experience working within formal architecture governance structures including review panels and design authorities
Deep understanding of industrial systems networks infrastructure integration and platforms
Strong experience influencing senior leaders and building trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
Highly developed communication facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively
Desirable Certifications
Azure or AWS Solutions Architect
TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)
ArchiMate
Certifications in infrastructure networking or platform technologies (e.g. Cisco VMware)
Work Location
Downtown Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.
