PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As a distributor you will manage weekly and day to day allocation of railcar assets for various lines of business towards customer demand commitments. The successful candidate will also manage loaded and empty pipelines of assigned customers across different supply chains and communicates/escalates conditions of such pipelines.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Coordinate short and midterm demand (03 weeks) to align with fleet requirements
- Fulfill empty railcar orders according to customer forecasts
- Communicate directly with customers regarding priorities and contingencies up to the traffic manager level
- Develop action plans to address dwelling equipment and meet KPI requirements
- Communicate pipeline conditions to internal and external stakeholders
- Track supplementary and ancillary service charges in alignment with products and services offered
- Monitor railcar equipment flows against trip plans and suggest improvements
- Enter data promptly into railcar order management and demand management systems while ensuring data integrity
- Manage and track customer loading schedules; report progress and variances
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree
- 1 year experience in transportation supply chain and logistics
- Experience with CPKC along with geographic/operating systems/commercial knowledge would be an asset
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability and strong teamwork skills
- Advanced computer proficiency with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems
- Ability to handle emergent or rapidly changing situations on a continuous basis
- Ability to provide weekend coverage

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
