About the Role

Support people with disability living in Supported Independent Living homes in Arncliffe and Gymea who are looking for someone with experience in providing personal care stoma care and manual handling to provide them active day to day support.

The successful candidate will follow active support plans and participate in activities of interest which will include transport to day programs going to the movies and going order to transport the clients the successful candidate must be confident in driving a wheelchair van.

The successful candidate must be able to commit to one of the below set permanent part time rosters:

48 hours per fortnight:

  • Week 1: Mon 6 9:30am Tues 6 10:30am Wed 7am 2pm Fri 6 9:30am Sat 3 8pm Sun 11pm 9am (Active)
  • Week 2: Tues & Wed 6 9:30am Thurs 7am 2:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow and actively participate in person-centred active support plans
  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

  • Experience with personal care and stoma care
  • Ability to complete regular manual handling
  • Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
  • An unrestricted Australian drivers licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
