Position Summary:

The Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) is a clinical leader who drives high-quality resident-centered care across long-term care services while aligning daily operations with organizational strategy values and regulatory standards. This role provides leadership to nursing and interdisciplinary teams fostering a culture of engagement innovation safety and continuous learning. The DCO works with clinical leaders to ensure clinical practice excellence staff education and competency development while ensuring consistent implementation of evidence-informed care models and organizational priorities. With accountability for resident care outcomes quality improvement compliance and operational effectiveness the role collaborates closely with internal leaders external partners and families to support coordinated compassionate care. Additionally the DCO contributes to financial stewardship workforce planning and system-level initiatives while promoting staff well-being safety and professional growth to sustain a high-performing and supportive care environment.

Employment Requirements:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and be a member in good standing.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required; a Masters degree is beneficial.
  • Must have a minimum of three years experience in a leadership capacity within a long-term care setting or similar environment.
  • Must possess working knowledge of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Act; Occupational Health and Safety Act and ESA legislation.
  • Proven ability to coach and train with an understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Must possess exceptional leadership abilities and demonstrate a passion for engaging employees and promoting a supportive and productive work.
  • Demonstrated skills as a system thinker and transformational leader with experience or willing to learn about building coalitions with external partners to advance innovation in long-term care culture.
  • Experience operating within a unionized environment and knowledge of the collective bargaining process preferred.
  • Effective problem-solving skills; prioritization and organizational skills; written and oral communication skills; and advanced computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of individuals including residents families employees community partners required.
  • A valid drivers license is required as well as successful completion of a Police Check Vulnerable Screening Check and medical.

Starting Rate: $105000$125000 annually
