The Digital Learning Content Developer leads the creation development and continuous improvement of digital learning and content initiatives for the YMCA Ignite platform. This role designs engaging accessible and high-quality online learning experiences while supporting awareness engagement and participation through multimedia and promotional content. Working collaboratively with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders the Digital Learning Content Developer translates program goals into effective digital learning solutions that enhance the learner experience and support the growth reach and impact of YMCA Ignite.
In this role you will:
- Lead the end-to-end creation of engaging learner-centered online courses for the YMCA Ignite platform from concept through launch.
- Apply instructional design principles and learning theory to ensure effective accessible and inclusive learning experiences.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal teams to translate program goals into structured high-quality learning experiences and curricula.
- Support innovation and continuous improvement in digital learning and content creation approaches.
- Monitor learner feedback and platform data to support continuous improvement of content and delivery approaches.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Communications team to support integrated campaigns and ensure alignment between learning content and promotional initiatives.
- Contribute to marketing and communications efforts related to YMCA Ignite including newsletters and promotional campaigns.
- Ensure all content aligns with YMCA brand standards and platform requirements.
- Develop scripts storyboards assessments and multimedia content to support effective and engaging course delivery.
- Develop content such as videos and social media posts to promote courses the platform and learner engagement.
- Create and produce video content for courses and digital channels including basic filming editing and post-production.
- Build interactive e-learning modules using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline Rise or similar platforms.
- Set up and publish courses within the Learning Management System (LMS) ensuring proper structure functionality and user experience.
- Perform light backend administration within the LMS including course updates user management and general platform maintenance.
- Support the planning and delivery of webinars and virtual learning experiences including content preparation and setup.
- Review and update existing course content to ensure accuracy relevance and quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You bring:
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 23 years of experience in online learning instructional design content creation or digital media production.
- Demonstrated experience creating engaging e-learning content using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline Rise or similar platforms.
- Experience setting up and managing courses within a Learning Management System (LMS) including basic backend administration such as course configuration and user management.
- Experience producing video content including basic filming editing and post-production.
- Experience supporting or delivering webinars or virtual learning sessions is an asset.
- Experience working with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of instructional design methodologies and learning principles.
- Familiarity with social media and digital marketing with the ability to create content that promotes engagement.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Strong storytelling ability with excellent writing editing and content development skills across formats.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret feedback and improve content performance.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality user-focused content.
- Excellent interpersonal communication written and presentation skills.
- Excellent understanding of diversity inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers work effectively with diverse stakeholders and integrate equity into program design.
