Multimatic Technical Centre (MTC)locatedinheart of MultimaticsMarkham Ontario campus provides advanced design engineeringsimulation andtesting to Multimatics manufacturing divisionsautomotiveOEMsandmotorsports -located with Multimatics prototype manufacturing and Motorsports teamenables industry leadingrapid development cyclesthroughstrong collaboration.
The Role
Multimatics Mechanisms Engineering team is looking for talented Design Engineers to help create innovative solutions for the worlds leading OEMs. Our team develops everything fromSide DoorHinges to advanced motion systems including Active Aerodynamic Devices andPowerDoor this roleyoulltake automotive components from concept through to high-volume production ensuring they meet performance cost and manufacturability targets.
This role in on-site Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
Create andmaintain3D CAD models drawings with GD&T and engineering documentation such asDFMEAs DVP&Rstolerance stack-upsand other engineering calculations
Lead product development through defining and reviewing virtual and physical validation studies
Work in close partnershipwith program managementprocessand quality teams atMultimaticsmanufacturing divisions tosupport DFM DFA and VA/VE activities
Collaborate with Multimatics Electronics and Software teams to deliver integrated solutions for powered mechanisms
Hands-onassembly ofnewdesignconcepts to support prototypebuilds testing and validation
Communicate directly with customers to understand technical requirements provide designsolutionsand program updates
Generating innovative design concepts to satisfy OEM customer requirements
Drive continuous improvement in design process and product performance
Qualifications & Skills
BachelorsorMastersdegree in Mechanical Engineering Automotive Engineering or related field.
3 years of proven experience in automotivecomponentdesign
Proficient in CAD software (CATIAor NXpreferred)for 3D modelling and GD&T drafting
Strong knowledge of kinematics materialsand design forhigh-volumemanufacture and assembly
Understanding of DFMEA DVP&Rstructured root cause analysis methods
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communicationskills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
A genuine passion for mechanical design and the automotive world ideallydemonstratedthrough personal projects Formula SAE participation or hands-on work with your own vehicles.
