Daycare Kitchen Assistant (Part-time) !

Reporting to the Chef/Centre Director you will be an integral member of the Kids & Company team supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations. Your role will involve food preparation and assisting following Kids & Company standards to align with our mission statement.

We are currently hiring a Part-Time Kitchen Assistantto work Monday Tuesday and Thursdayfrom 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal and snack portioning and delivery to classrooms ensuring food is distributed safely and on time.
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as fruit preparation and other kitchen support duties as assigned.
• Prepare and organize meal service supplies including bins serving materials and delivery carts.
• Collect dishes utensils and meal service equipment from classrooms.
• Wash rinse sanitize and properly store dishes utensils serving equipment and food trolleys in accordance with food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean organized and sanitary kitchen by cleaning work areas equipment storage areas and meal service items.
• Assist with organizing storing and rotating food products kitchen supplies and inventory.
• Follow all food safety sanitation allergy-awareness and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the Cook and Centre Director to support efficient kitchen operations.
• Perform other related duties as required to support the overall operation of the kitchen.

What you need

• 2 years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience in a daycare environment is an asset.
• Valid drivers license and a clean drivers abstract.
• Strong communication skills.
• A clean criminal record check is required.
• Physical ability to lift push and pull up to minimum 50 pounds.
