Who you are:

Geotab is seeking a Data Scientist who will assist in the design and construction of Geotabs data mining and model building processes from vast amounts of raw data. What youll do:

As a Data Scientist your key area of responsibility will be analyzing trends to make improved decision-making in producing effective customer-facing products. You will need to work closely with internal technical teams to gather requirements.To be successful in this role you will be a strong team-player with high accuracy meticulous attention to detail and an entrepreneurial mindset comfortable in a flat organization. In addition the successful candidate will have strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and stay relevant to technology to adapt to growing market demands.

How youll make an impact:

Design and construct Geotabs data modeling processes.
Create algorithms and predictive models to extract information required to solve complex business problems.
Generate queries from Geotabs Big Data Infrastructure from Data Warehousing database (i.e. Google BigQuery).
Use Machine Learning (ML) packages (e.g. Scikit-learn and Tensorflow) to develop ML models and features.
Test the performance of data-driven products and make recommendations for improving Geotabs product suite.
Collaborate with internal technical teams to gather requirements.
Responsible for the design development and maintenance of ongoing metrics reports analyses and dashboards to drive key business decisions.
Support a platform providing ad-hoc and automated access to large datasets.
Consistently demonstrate Geotabs Core Values in all daily work and interactions.
Responsible for the contribution and maintenance of the departmental Wiki.

What youll bring to the role:

1-5 years experience as a Data Scientist or a similar role.
Post-secondary Degree/Diploma with specialization in Mathematics Computer Science Statistics or a related field.
Thorough knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python SQL C) and object-oriented programming.
Thorough knowledge of Big Data tools and Data Mining/Warehousing Programs (e.g. Google BigQuery) along with experience in machine learning techniques (e.g. Scikit-learn Tensorflow).
Comfortable integrating diverse AI models and productivity tools to accelerate project deliverables.
Understanding of machine learning and operations research with experience using/building business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data frameworks.
Technical competence using software programs including Google Suite for business (Sheets Docs Slides); experience in a high-technology industry is an asset.
Strong analytical organizational and team-player skills with high attention to detail and an entrepreneurial mindset.

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills qualifications education and overall experience including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individuals ability to pass a background check.

$104400 - $135700 CAD
